Yes, it’s true, the fame of the Skills Exchange is spreading far and wide. Today Taran, Rob and myself appeared on Christine’s morning show. I’ve been on a couple of times before, but Christine thought it would bring the project alive to have a couple of members talking about it.
Luckily for me I bumped into Taran a week or so ago and we had a chat about doing the show. Taran has done loads of hours for other people including decorating, word processing, cleaning, coaching on interview skills and cooking. In return, she’s had lots of help from Rob who’s done DIY and IT type stuff (he’s also the Sushi man, we featured his recipes in a recipe booklet a while ago).
In terms of the interview I did a quick overview of what the Skills Exchange is about and then Taran and Rob added their own personal experiences. Wanting to help the community, getting help for free, sharing skills and learning new ones are just a few of the things that they mentioned.
Thankyou guys, you did a great job. Much better to hear it from members like yourselves. Hopefully we might pick up some new members too.

Yeah, that was a lot easier than I thought it’d be. I thought she might quiz us more on local exchange mechanisms and I’d have to try to recall knowledge of economics on the spot.
