As we now reach the 4,000 hours exchanged mark, I would like to share this quick little story with you.
Lynne joined us in April 2009 and quickly began earning Time Credits by helping at events, with mailouts, promoting the Skills Exchange and helping to run a Conversation Group at Hyson Green Library , she even ran a Sweet Making Workshop for us last school summer hols. I can verify that the choccies were delicious as my daughter took part and I was allowed to sample some. Lynne had some specific jobs in mind when she joined AND she wanted to widen her social circle. One of the things on her wish list was to “never iron anything ever again”
I saw her the other day and, thanks to the efforts of our members, she hasn’t ironed ANYTHING for a WHOLE year. Just goes to show that wishes can be granted when you join us. Lynne is also a regular at our Breakfast Mornings and Socials and she’s had a couple of “Girls Night Ins” at her house, so I think we can safely say that she’s widened her social circle too.

Well done updating the blog Helen!
I’d just like to say I haven’t ironed anything for a whole decade… and I did it all on my own!
